My
art is about light, time, perception, beauty and memory.
My abstract paintings evoke the perception of nature.
The viewer will respond to the sensuous atmosphere of
moving through a lush environment: the luminosity and
texture of water, trees and open space.
Water and light are my primary references. Depicted simultaneously
from above and below, water reflects and absorbs the light,
which moves through the water’s layers of dark color
into deep fluid space. I want to evoke the feeling of being
in water, being underwater, swimming in water and looking
at water. Water represents a nocturnal hidden space and
functions as an allegory for sleep, dreaming and remembering.
My palette of rich blacks and shades of gray, muted color
and diffuse light will stimulate the viewer to experience
personal memories of nature and elicit an intimate response. |
